The last time I read through the Bible I came across this simple passage in Genesis 29, "While he was still talking with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep, for she was a shepherdess." I am not one to take and stretch passages to create something that is not there or bend it to my needs, but this simple passage did say something profound to me. God called Rachel to work. She was productive in serving her father and her family be taking care of the sheep. My prayer for you and myself is that we will not be idle, but work and do as the Lord asks us to do. Sometimes this will make us uncomfortable and stretch us in ways we could not have imagined, but we have been designed to serve God and serve others and we will be thoroughly blessed as we do so.
